The Evolution of Blu: How the Blu-Ray Disc was developed

We all know that early we used to listen to the recorded cassette players, records and enjoy the sound. But there were many disadvantages in listening to those old cassettes. Continuous listening used to break the tapes and reels in them and they were not so powerful to listen to them regularly. They also used to get damaged when not in use. They had their own problems.

But the technology geared and made CDs (Compact Disc) and DVDs (Digital Video Disc). These discs are very popular these days and are very portable and have grabbed their own place in the technology age. There are also some disadvantages associated with them such as if they are exposed to moisture they become unreadable. Even the scratches on them could not help our video watching or audio listening fun and entertainment. The CDs come with less storage capacity, low picture and sound quality as compared to the DVDs.

Now still if you want the best picture quality and sound as well as high storage capacity then you should definitely consider buying the Blu-Ray discs.

But what actually Blu-Ray discs are ; let us go into its details:
Before there were no mediums to play the HD codecs, so the need of special kind of discs arrived. Blu-ray disc is actually the optical storage medium which stores high definition video and data. It has the same dimension as of CD or DVD but has additional qualities.
Its name is derived from the blue laser which is typically used to read and write the data on the disc but more than that of what is stored in the DVDs. It stores up to 50 GB.
Another important advantage of Blu-ray disc player which is specially made for playing the Blu-ray disc can play even your old CDs and DVDs. So no need to worry at all.
Most of the brand new companies support this technology of using Blu-ray discs such as Hitachi, Sony, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips and Samsung.
It has various features which are proving very beneficial such as it has a strong copyright protection mechanism.
It is very durable and hence long lasting for about 10 to 15 years.
They are even affordable with the same rates as of DVDs but also having the great storage capacity.
It is even anti-scratch disc as it is hard coated and does not get affected by the scratch or fingertips.
It is finding the best place for the home theater system to provide the perfect sound and picture quality.

We see that technology has gifted us with another innovative invention of Blu-ray discs to enhance our picture viewing and making us more entertained.
